Can you tell us a little bit about A Love Supreme? How did it begin and what’s it all about? ‘A Love Supreme’ was basically a vision of sharing something we believe in through music and a passion of bringing people together. We started by throwing some small block parties in a carpark behind a shop in the city and organically it grew into regular club nights and the ability to host some international heavy weights in some iconic venues over the years. The approach has always been the same for us though - pushing quality music with the goal of a good time.

You recently turned 10 years old. Congrats! What have you got planned to celebrate and are there any particular parties that stick out over the last decade? It has been a decade, it’s true. But honestly, the time really flew by. To celebrate we are hosting some all time international artists along with some of our closest DJs and artists across two events. The legendary Azymuth and Marcos Valle are headlining the first followed by Floating Points for the second.

Notable parties…there have been so many! But Block Party was probably the biggest singular event encompassing what A Love Supreme represents musically. Joining the dots between soul, jazz and the like with more club orientated sounds. So as a whole, it really meant something to us. The live and DJ elements really worked symbiotically across different stages and somehow with the two of us bumping our heads together, we managed to pull it off. It’s hard to describe the feeling exactly, but it was particularly nice. Something like… nah, we can’t explain it!

How did you decide to approach your Lazydaze mix? Was there a concept behind it?Soulful and loving, which is pretty much how we are feeling at the moment given where A Love Supreme are at with the 10 year celebration coming up.

Are there any particularly special tracks or moments in there for you? Marina Lima – ‘Cifra’. I guess it’s just a song that came at the right place and time in life where it stirred some feelings inside.

Can you please each name one of your all-time favourite albums to chill out to that you’ll never tire of? Benny: Sade – Diamond Life

Killer from front to back. Finishes with a cover of Timmy Thomas’ ‘Why Can’t We Live Together’ with that sweet extended intro. This song continues to ring out loud, especially at this moment.

Paulie: Jennifer Lara – Weekend Loving

This embodies the highs and lows of love and heartache, acceptance and living with love in your heart. The harmonious pining for a perfect love across the record really speaks to the romantic in me.
